I’m sure you read other travel blogs and if so, you will surely have noticed the houses in the sand in Portugal called Casas Na Areia and Cabanas No Rio. If not, go have a look as these chic and simple cabanas in Comporta are quite striking.
The owners behind those also have had a family house for many years and have now restored it and opened it for rentals. It’s called “Caso No Tempo” (timeless house) and is a companion to a farm with horses, peacocks, chicken etc..
The house links seamlessly with nature via wide openings and a fabulous pool that manages to both come out and blend in with the land it sits in.
In the house, special attention has been given to the decor, white and minimal but inviting nonetheless. The owners are clearly fans of great design and point to their fully equipped kitchen and lighting or furniture from Davide Groppie, Divanni or Lefroy & Brooks (no I don’t know who they are either but that sounds fancy!).
CasaNoTempo” is 1 hour south of Lisbon in Montemor o Novo, Alentejo, and a short drive to Évora, a UNESCO world heritage site.
And once you are in this region, why not discover other great properties such as Sao Lourenco de Barrocal, Torre de Palma, or Casas Caiadas.
