I was really pleased when out of the blue, I received an email from Torre de Palma, a hotel opened only in May 2014, near Monforte, a little village not far from Spain’s border in a beatiful and calm region of the Iberian peninsula. I hadn’t come across them yet so it was nice to be directly emailed the information.
Torre de Palma, a true From the Poolside hotel
Having checked the photos, the site and the initial reviews, I quickly decided that yes, it was a “From the Poolside” boutique hotel.
Each room is individually decorated, the service is very attentive (you can have breakfast in the lounge or in your room at no extra cost), there is an outdoor pool AND an indoor pool, so all things that speak to my heart!
And the explosion of colours is a refreshing change to the monopoly of grey and white these days.
Plus, off season, the rates are really good, starting at 100£ for a double bedroom.
Discover the Alentejo and enjoy many activities for the family
In corresponding with the hotel, they sent me a list of activities that surely would keep the whole family occupied : wine tours, walks through the vineyards, cinema, horse riding and lessons, agriculture workshops, the Torre de Palma Roman Ruins, Elvas, hot air ballon rides, canoeing, hiking trails etc…
And once you are in this region, why not discover other great properties such as Sao Lourenco de Barrocal, Casa Azimute, Casa No Tempo, or Casas Caiadas.

I’m still yet to explore Portugal but this is certainly enough to entice me…gorgeous.
Their take on design is so refreshing and interesting, isn’t it?
