Notwithstanding the fact that you could be held at the tunnel because of demonstrations (like it happened to me this week on my way to Brussels), it’s really worth considering going to explore the North of France or Belgium. More and more there are beautiful design places opening there.
This week, I’ll show you a hotel and a lovely b&b and house rental in this region.
We start with a five star luxury hotel which opened not long ago in Lille. Lille has become a very attractive city with a fab atmosphere and cultural scene so it’s worth booking a train ticket for a weekend break.
You can now stay at a the Clarance Hotel, an original 18th century house which has now been renovated and decorated in tones of white, black and a touch of orange to pep things up.
With only 19 rooms, a central location and a lovely green garden, it seems to me to be the perfect base to go explore Lille. What do you think?
