Paradise Cove in Mauritius – a lovely boutique hotel for adults only

Mauritius Hotels

Now that I’ve launched this blog, my family regularly thinks of me when they travel (ah ah, result !) because they take pictures for it ! So today, courtesy of my brother and his wife, I can take you to Mauritius where they stayed at the boutique hotel Paradise Cove.

Mauritius has been on my list of dream destinations for a while now but with Mademoiselle, that could make it an expensive flight. The alternative is to do what my brother and his wife did, which is to leave the kid with the grand-parents and treat ourselves to a trip just the two of us. Which is fitting as the hotel they chose is “adult only” (cue of course lots of bad jokes before they went).

Update: we did make it to Mauritius a few years later and stayed at the One & Only.  Read my review!

An honest review of Paradise Cove by my brother and his wife

Paradise Cove calls itself a boutique hotel despite having 67 bedrooms but I guess that it’s probably right for Mauritius where most hotels are really big, even when they are at the top of the luxury range.

They were really pleased with the hotel, the decor, and the fact that they could relax so well because there were no kids around (as much as we love them, I’m sure you’ll agree with me that sometimes we crave a bit of silence). The service and the staff were particularly impressive and the food was the “most delicious that I ate of all my travels” said my brother.

On the minus side, the hotel doesn’t have a private beach. It has a lovely infinity pool but then it’s kind of a bay with no sand and you swim in the sea by jumping from boards (if I understood correctly).

They managed to get a good deal via a promotion on Voyage Privé I believe. Another way to enjoy Mauritius is also to go in July. Days are shorter but the weather is still nice and you can get better deals on prices.
