There are, as it appears, more than the Aeolian islands around Sicily, the other ones are Egadi islands. I first discovered the Aeolian islands, near Sicily, a couple of weeks ago when I was looking for some isolated beach boutique hotels for Raphaël. I had already found a couple of nice places there but then I came across Cave Bianche Hotel, which is unique in its own way and in those set of islands.
It is located on Favignana, the largest island, in a quarry of white limestone, about 2 km from the town and really close to one of the many bays and coves. As you can see from the photos, the limestone is everywhere and the minimalist design fits well with the harshness but also cleanliness of the stone.
There are gardens though and a pool and lots and lots of lemon and orange trees and aromatic herbs so nature surrounds you too.
The 32 rooms have been designed to be restful and ecological. You have different standards and the most expensive ones come with Jacuzzi shower and panoramic window.
With a restaurant, pool, mini-pools with hydro-massage function, green areas and a lounge bar, you can spend all your time relaxing but also hire a car, bicycle, a scooter or even a boat to explore the island further.

Favignana is one of the Egadi Islands (Trapani Province) not one of the Aeolian Islands. It’s still looks like an interesting hotel but it’s over 300 kms from the Aeolian Islands.
Thank you Ted, corrected!
