Availability alert ! This lovely B&B in France still has spaces for this summer apart from the last week of August.
Their configuration also means that it can work well for families as they have two rooms that can be joined to make a suite and an apartment with a queen size bed plus 2 single beds in the lounge and a small kitchen/dining area. That apartment is better for children who have a sense of safety though as there are steep open stairs.
A restored farmhouse near Carcassonne
Now that I sorted out your holiday (you’re welcome), here is the nice background story to this place kindly provided by Annie.
Annie, an interior designer from New York City met Colin, a chiropractor and wellness consultant from South African a train in Paris . They both buying and doing up houses and they have a few projects under their belt in the USA and in France. When they kids grew up and left, they needed a new project and wanted to share their passion for homely houses with guests.
That’s when they created Casa Lloret. They restored the house from the 1700s and created a calm relaxing heaven.
They are keen to share their slow-living philosophy: get people to slow down and see the beauty in the authentic, local, and imperfect, and to take the time to get to know each other, share a meal or just chill with some good books and music…
Slow living at its best
As you can see from the photos below, the rooms have a subtle luxury- elegant proportions, fireplaces, extra-large beds, handmade futons, linen bedding, vintage furnishings, woolly rugs, squishy bathrobes and organic bath products.
They serve communal dinners several times per week and you can relax either in the lounge, on the terrace or garden and refresh yourselves from the honesty bar with their signature drink, the “white negroni”!
There is plenty to do in the region for families; visiting vineyards, Cathar castles, Carcassonne, the canal du midi, antiques shopping, food markets.
And if after all of that, you are still feeling a bit tense, then go visit Colin’s practice! His offices just right across the street!
