I am so tempted to go to Sicily, there are are really lots of nice places opening up there.  Here is a new one that I spotted just a few weeks ago.  Here is why you should go there soon!

It’s new but the house isn’t!  It opened in August 2015 but is an old house that has been restored! The owners have another well established property, Villadorata in Palazzo Nicolaci, and opened this one for the guests who prefer to spend their holidays in the country side.

It is in a delightful setting: in the enchanting countryside of southeastern Sicily , surrounded by delightful organic farms, the hotel is situated between the baroque city of Noto and  only 15km from the beaches of the Ionian sea. It also has 11 acres of olive, almond and citrus trees.

The design is a careful blend of old and new: restoration of the building has been carefully carried out, seeking to retain the antique spirit of the place but adding some modern furniture and furnishings.

Rooms are split in three residences: the Palmento Residence, a former olive mill, faces the main swimming pool and has 3 superior rooms;  the Bouganville Residence has 3 superior rooms and 1 standard room, and the Olive Residence is a completely private suite with its own swimming pool.  So it’s only a total of 8 rooms, very intimate. All rooms can have an extra bed added for your child and some outdoor space, either as a terrace or a veranda.

The area has lots of potential day trips:  Noto, as previously mentioned, Syracuse, the old capital of Sicily,  Marzamemi, an old fishing village,  Modica, the gem of the Iblei Mountains or Ragusa Ibla, with buildings and monuments of late Baroque style. There are also many beautiful small beaches with crystal water.
