New Paris hotels

France Hotels
Based on the flurry of new Paris hotels opening this year, it’s not all doom and gloom in France as some anglo-saxon magazines would like us to think. A new breed of French entrepreneurs is banking on the fact that people will always want to come to Paris and creating places that reflect a more vibrant and modern vibe.

I have come across several Paris hotels openings in the past few months or some that are about to open this year. I only list below those hotels in Paris where I’d like to stay either because the location is great, the atmosphere is special or the price is right!

Hotel La Parizienne

An interesting take on the boutique hotel with a focus on women as seen with the funny drawings and the fact that you get Nuxe products in the bathroom ! You can read my review now.

Grand Pigalle Hotel

The team behind this hotel has opened several restaurants and bars in Paris in the last few years, so they’re the “goût du jour”. From the website photo, one can guess that they want to favour a “night atmosphere” in line with the area (South of Pigalle).

Hotel Da Vinci

Hotel Da Vinci, new Paris boutique hotel, renovated in 2015.

This hotel was redecorated and reopened earlier this year. Rooms have a very distinct decor.  The hotel is well suited for families as some rooms are big (choose the one called “L’Adorateur”) and they can help with bottle warmers, high chairs and changing tables.

Hotel Les Bains Paris

For me, Les Bains will always be this famous night club of my student years in Paris. It was the it club of the 90’s . How funny to now see it being transformed into a hotel.  The famous pool which gave it its name should remain.

Hotel Molitor

Hotel Molitor, Paris. 103 rooms from €184 part of the Accor group

I wanted to mention this hotel on the blog before but it couldn’t warrant a full blog post as it’s not a boutique hotel (it’s part of the Accor chain). However, it is set in a renovated pool so how could this not be on a blog called “from the poolside”!  I remember very well going to Piscine Molitor when I was a student. It’s an Art Deco building from 1929 and it’s great to see it reinvented as a new destination.

Hotel Panache

Hotel Panache, opening summer 2015 in Paris

This new hotel in the 9th arrondissement is being renovated and redone by the same team that is behind Hotel Paradis and the decor will be by Dorothée Meilichzon who mastered the delightful Hotel Henriette. Should be quite something then.
