I have been charmed by this estate ever seen I first spotted it maybe a year ago or so. I love those places where you can choose to either stay in the hotel or have your own villa with some services. It means that you can go with some friends or the grand-parents with everyone still retaining their privacy or elect their accommodation according to their budget. That’s what we enjoyed at Rou Estate in Greece for instance.
Monteverdi Hotel is actually a collection of exquisitely rental villas as well as a boutique hotel in the restored village of Castiglioncello del Trinoro, in Tuscany. It also has a fine-dining restaurant named Oreade and more recently a space turned into an artistic gallery.
The boutique hotel
The hotel was opened in 2012 and only has 13 rooms. There are spectacular vistas to the typical Tuscany valley and an adjoining outdoor swimming pool. The decor was designed by Italian interior designer Ilaria Miani, and they also hired regional artisans to ensure that the traditional building retains its character.
There are three villas available for rent on a weekly basis. Each villa is equipped with a state-of-the-art kitchen where a private chef can prepare Tuscan cuisine and its complexity of flavors. Some villas have 6 bedrooms whereas there is a more intimate 2 bedroom villa.
You can also benefit from all the facilities of the hotel.
Indulge your brain as well as your senses
Of course, you can dine beautifully in the restaurant but you can also listen to music during the jazz festival or admire the various paintings in the gallery.
All in all, the essence of a Tuscany stay: beautiful country scenery, amazing italian decor, great food and cultural adventures.
All of this beauty has a price so this is probably a great choice for special occasions: I am considering booking it for our first wedding anniversary in October!
