Little Green Bay seems to be the answer to my long time search for a proper boutique hotel in Croatia. I can’t believe I didn’t come across it before as it opened in 2016.  It is sure to come one of the favourite Hvar hotels for families.

It will also join my collection of beach boutique hotels as it’s literally on the beach!  Nestled in a little bay with direct access to clear turquoise water, it lies just of the coast of Croatia in the island of Hvar.

The beach is pebble but with the right shoes, you won’t mind and the trade off is peace and lack of crowds. The seetings is beautiful with pines and tamarisk trees around. You can relax on rattan sun-beds or jumbo beanbags and jump into the sea from one of the small piers.

The hotel is an old restored farmhouse which has been renovated by a French brother and sister.  They chose a decoration which features wood for its warmth, glass for its transparency, copper and stone.  There are only 15 bedrooms, one with a jacuzzi and many with nice big bathrooms.

A simple program for your holidays at Little Green Bay Croatia: do nothing!

The program here is simple: relaxation and rest all the way.  In the morning, you can go for a quick swim in the clear waters (apparently the sea can go up to 30% in the summer) and then enjoy breakfast on the terrace of the bistro.

Then why not go explore the island and the coast with a boat that the owners can arrange for you? Or you could just stay there and relax on the lounges by the sea…   If not, there is an outdoor spa near the aromatic scented garden

At night, the restaurant will provide an intimate ambiance and a lovely sunset view.

It really seems like the perfect place to relax for a romantic break with your loved one but equally could welcome families who don’t want to travel far for their holidays.  You can go to the village of Hvar just 5 km away for instance for a bit of tourist sightseeing.  The hotel offers private speedboat transfers there and back.

Getting there is also quite a fun ride with a 65 min transfer by catamaran from Split.  Or if you want to do it in style (and can afford it), there is a quick 15 min Seaplane journey just 5 min from the airport of Split (50 euros per person).
