If you have decided to stay in one of the great hotels with pool in Portugal, then look no further, I have the perfect selection of hotels in Portugal, and they all have a pool!

I’m talking for my British fellow travellers here as from May 17^th, we can finally go abroad without risking a huge fine.  There’s a list of green, amber and red countries with various restrictions but Portugal is on the green list so obviously a first choice for many.

And there is much to like about Portugal if you are a hotel lover. Lots of new places have opened or were renovated with tons of style, charm, idea and ingenuity. 

I can’t guarantee the availability of all those addresses below but worth knowing of them for your own vacation in Portugal.

Opened recently, Da Licenca is set amongst vast acres of hills covered in olive trees. The white building is striking amongst that panorama. Inside, the focus is on space to showcase the collection of design furniture and art pieces.  There are only four suites and two bedrooms. The suites are between 50 and 180 square meters so you will definitely have space to spread, and two of them even have a private pool.

Some of my holidays as a child where spent in my grandparents ‘village in the middle of nature with a true sense of slow life. This B&B with swimming pool in Portugal really reminds me of this.  This pretty farm in Alentejo, Portugal, has been the property of Catarina and Tozé’s father and his wife for several years and last year, Catarina and Tozé decided to get involved and to transform it into an agroturismo with style.

is apparently really good for children as a friend of mine who stayed there told me. It’s a member of the Design Hotels group, which tells you about the style, and offers a tranquil retreat with a garden and 2 heated outdoor swimming pools. Featuring typical Algarve architecture, the unit is divided in 4 buildings, a 10-minute drive away from the Fuseta beach. 

The restaurant is based on the concept of sharing and includes a continuous all-day service where the wood oven and the Josper grill are the main players in the actual cooking of fresh local ingredients. During the Summer months there are open air movie sessions and boat rides to the beach on Fuseta island.

Sublime Comporta which opened in May 2014 has been getting better and better. The location is ideal: only 45 minutes from Lisbon, set  in a lovely pine tree forest but close to the beach as well. They also have new villas with private pool, perfect for families as they are two, three and five bedroom cabanas.

I usually don’t post about hotels that are more than 40 rooms but this new one really seems beautiful . Plus with the various types of accommodations, everyone, from couples to families can find their happiness. Quinta da Comporta is of course set near Comporta, 130 kilometers south of Lisbon, in the heart of the sublime natural reserve of Comporta. Families can stay either in duplex suites or if they can turn this into a whole holiday, in the fabulous pool villas. There are four of them at the top of the resort.

I really love the look of this place, it seems to combine both elegance and barefoot luxury.
