On Sunday morning, I received a lovely email from one of my loyal readers, Cécile. She was walking around the Halles neighbourhood in Paris and came across a new boutique hotel which she immediately thought of telling me about.

The hotel has been completely renovated and literally just opened: on Friday 1st of April! It is a new 3 star boutique hotel with a chic and dark mood which contrasts in the area and demonstrates yet again how Paris hotels are shaking things up.

Similar to Hotel Panache or Pigalle, this new hotel has been redecorated by two young ladies designers, Dorothée Delaye and Daphné Desjeux. As the hotel site says: “Combining a classic and modern spirit and mixing craft furniture diverted from its original use with furniture of their own design (lights, chairs, mirrors…), their style is a true composition proudly defined by the art of unexpected associations.”

There are only 22 rooms and breakfast is a self-serving affair so it should be pretty relaxed.

One to check as it is so central and you can get everywhere very quickly from Les Halles. Plus Etienne Marcel and the rue de Montorgueuil with all their clothes and food shops are just round the corner…

There are so many stylish and affordable hotels in Paris now. No more excuse to not go there!
