I spotted le Pressoir in Dordogne,  this French idyllic holiday rental, a few years back.  We never managed to rent it so far so I can’t keep it hidden from you any longer;  I think it’s worth your consideration!

Le Pressoir Dordogne, is a true French delight

Set within the rolling hills and stunning woodland of the Dordogne Valley, Le Pressoir was lovingly converted from a 14th Century mill. It provides 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms in the main house, along with a 2 bedroomed annexe, all decorated with a French country chic flavour.

The villa provides ample family space indoors, with a family kitchen and a large dining room where you can enjoy the complimentary organic French breakfast using the best local produce. It includes bread, patisseries, local yoghurts and fruit in season, jam, honey and butter, together with hot drinks, fresh milk and fruit juice.

The ground floor has an elegant contemporary living room with open fireplace and a dining room for 10 people.

The perfect holiday house for families with children

The rooms give plenty of options for families, with extra beds and cots available and space that can be combined to make a great area for children.  You can choose your own configurations, with 5 of the rooms being able to be either Kingsize or twins.

The children will love discovering the woodland and splashing in the wild stream, which is like a wonderland just ready for exploring, and the whole family can take a short stroll down to the freshwater river for an open air swim.

A space for all seasons

Le Pressoir is a welcoming space for any time of the year.  During the colder months, guests can feel the benefit of the underfloor heating and cosy interior.  For the warmer seasons, that is when the surroundings of Le Pressoir can be enjoyed at best.

The estate of Le Pressoir is like nature’s playground for guests of any age to enjoy.  The villa features an outdoor saltwater pool, with geothermal heating, accessed from the patio doors. Loungers around the pool help with creating a relaxing outdoor area to enjoy the surroundings.

Enjoying the area

Outside of Le Pressoir there is plenty to discover. There are the Medieval towns of Sarlat and Bergerac nearby, and within walking distance guests will find various abbeys and churches to explore.

If guests prefer something a bit more adrenaline filled, there is a nearby water park with slides and a lake with inflatables, or maybe try kayaking in the river.

There is a good selection of music and theatre festivals held in the local area, for those guests looking for a bit of culture.

Following this up with an evening overlooking the fields of Perigord Noir, Le Pressoir really does give guests a taste of pure relaxation within the beautiful French countryside
