Casa Morelli exclusive design sits well in the Tuscany landscape

Casa Morelli is a beautiful rental house overlooking the hills of Tuscany which was brought to my attention by a fellow hotel lover, Lisa.

It’s in an exclusive secluded location and yet very close to the hot spots of Tuscany such as the picturesque wine towns of Castellina (which is a lovely 5km walk) and Radda in Chianti, or the lively art cities of Siena and Florence.

It is part of a condominium with another 5 properties. However, Welcome Beyond (through which you can rent the property with good Covid safe cancellation options) says that it feels very private, with vegetation between each of the properties.

Part of the building dates from the 16th century, with the open-plan living area and study added recently.

The sophisticated design, complete with minimalist furniture and high tech sound and audio system, fits actually really nicely with the beautiful landscape of the Chianti region.

Bespoke furniture and a striking minimalist design

Inside, the focus on simplicity is achieved through the use of just a few beautiful materials. They made the floors, bathrooms and showers from a coloured grotto brick, which was also used to build the kitchen.

Most of the interior features were custom-made for the house, including the shelves, cabinets and kitchen, as well as the washbasin and bathtub, which were milled from massive Tuscan travertine blocks.

The loft-like living and dining area with an open kitchen forms the communicative heart of Casa Morelli. The huge panorama window brings a lot of light into the interior and offers spectacular views of the gently undulating hills of the Chianti Classico.

The outdoor area of Casa Morelli is like a huge outdoor living room: It has dining and seating areas under shady pergolas, a panoramic outdoor kitchen with barbecue and an infinity pool. A little above the house there is a pool that is shared with the five neighboring houses.

If the view and nature is not enough to relax you, then you can retreat to the home cinema or play music via the house’s high-end sound system.

Casa Morelli sleeps 6

The same attention to detail has of course been bestowed on the bedrooms. Extra large box spring beds (2.10 mx 1.80 m) with natural mattresses offer high-quality sleeping comfort, the puristic ensuite bathrooms with handcrafted elements made of travertine stone are silent temples for body and soul.

The master suite is on the upper floor with ensuite bathroom while the 2nd bedroom is on the ground floor with ensuite bathroom with rain shower. The home office with sofa bed for two people and adjoining bathroom with rain shower can be converted into a third bedroom.

Definitely one to add to our bucket list!
