The ability of some people to renovate a place and then add just the right touch of style always impresses me. That’s what Frank and Veronique two flemish people create at the Farmhouse of the Palms, near Faro in Portugal.
ONE – It’s perfectly located: situated on a hill named “Cerro do Botelho” and surrounded by a stunning garden, this 200-year-old B&B is an old farmhouse away from the tourist crowds but close to many little typical village of the Algarve region. Plus, it’s only 20 minutes away from Faro and the airport. The area perfectly lends itself to a trip to Faro, Loulé or Tavira, a bike ride or a walk, a lovely day at the beach, or a round of golf.
TWO – It is small and beautiful: there are only 5 rooms, three suitable for 1 or 2 people, and the other two for up to 4 people. Each room has a terrace. The decor is white and wood and magically simple yet alluring.
THREE – Families are welcome: the room for 4 people is perfect for a young family. Plus children under 3 years old stay for free, and a travel cot is available for free as well.
FOUR – There are several areas to relax outdoor: starting with a large and beautiful outdoor swimming pool in black mosaic. There are also various terraces, hammock, sun beds and lounge chairs to post yourself in and read a book. Everyone is sure to find their own favourite spot. Farmhouse of the Palms offers a small lunch menu featuring salads and light snacks, as well as an “honesty bar” where you can enjoy a refreshing drink.
FIVE- It was discovered by a fellow stylish traveller: Marleen is the one who shared her find in our Facebook group (which you can be a part of by joining the mailing list). Love it when people have exactly the same taste as me!
