Being French and having lived in Paris for many years, I am often asked for stylish Paris hotels recommendations. So here is my list of top 5 chic hotels in Paris that offer a good balance of style, location and value for price. I have stayed in several of them and will review them at length soon.

Hotel Arvor

This hotel is my “coup de coeur” and you can now read my full review here!

A two minutes walk from the St Georges metro station, a central location as you are close to les Grands Boulevards, Saint Lazare, the centre of Paris etc… lovely common rooms bright and airy, very good breakfast and brightly colored bedrooms, all of this at a very decent price.  A classic room starts at 92 Euros, a medium range room is at 126 Euros.  We stayed in the family room, where Mademoiselle had a separate area and this costs 220 euros. Hotel du Temps

Now this one is really pretty and doesn’t this photo of their breakfast area immediately transport you to Paris ? I can see myself having coffee, fresh baguettes with butter and jam and Le Monde before setting off for my usual rounds of shops and catch up with girls.  And I actually did, read my review here!

I bet the atmosphere in the hotel is the same. You are again in the 9th arrondissement, which also has the advantage of being an easy bus journey from Gare du Nord if you come from London . Prices start at 120 euros in low season.

Hotel Verneuil

I already mentioned it but the location (Saint Germain des Prés), style and availability of an appartment for a family make it a worthwile addition to this list.  It is also a more classic look than the other ones today so you may like this style better. They also own Hotel Thérèse near the Louvre. Prices start at 171 Euros.

Hotel Mayet

My base for many years as it is a 5 minutes walk to Le Bon Marché, ze place for stylish shopping in Paris. You are at the border between Saint Germain des Prés and Montparnasse and again a two minutes walk to a metro station.  Their welcome is very warm and the single rooms are at a decent price. Again nice breakfast. And again you can rent a bedroom for a family and if you do it early, get a rate at 132 euros. They have redecorated since my last visit in a busier style so if you go let me know if it is still as pleasant as I remember it.

Hotel George Opéra

Located very close to Opéra again and with some very attractive prices (a room for one person starts at 98 Euros). I like the fuky lounge with the owl cushions. It is not very clear whether you can add a kid’s bed to any bedroom as when you try to book for that configuration online, nothing comes up.
