I read that the French are the foreigners who buy the most villas with pool in Portugal. The white washed walls, Atlantic coast and sun is a key attraction. Many of them have transformed old houses into beautiful retreats.
Well, it’s been a busy few months with the newsletter. I think I sent a total of 50 new villas with pool or hotels with pool addresses to my subscribers!
The difference with the ones on the blog is their price and facilities as well as a bit more variety in the kind of places I select. Here on the blog is the “crème de la crème” but on the newsletter you can have a glamping address or a stylish hostel without a pool or a coup de coeur outside of Europe.
Hospedaria. This former tavern “on the road” now gets the chance to live a new life as a charming, tasteful, stylish retreat with only five rooms. The mix of white-washed walls, red-lined ceilings, antiques and pared down spaces is highly successful.
Some of the islands in the Atlantic have always been a bit of a challenge for me: Tenerife, the Azores for instance. They seem to be quite far away but also rough and rugged. However, some new properties, such as Sensi Azores, are starting to open there embracing their surroundings and at the same time providing a bit more luxury than before.
