Editorial independence

From the Poolside is an independent, personal travel edit.

Hotels are featured either through firsthand experience or editorial selection. Inclusion is never guaranteed and is not influenced by press trips, gifting, paid placements, or partnerships.

If a stay, experience, or invitation has been hosted or supported in any way, this is always clearly stated.

How hotels are featured

Hotels appear on From the Poolside in two distinct ways:

  • Firsthand reviews — hotels I have personally stayed in. When this is the case, the stay is self-funded unless explicitly stated otherwise.
  • Editorial selections — hotels I have not stayed at yet, but would happily book. These are chosen using the same criteria I apply when planning my own travel.

The distinction between firsthand and curated content is always made clear.

Affiliate relationships never determine what is featured. Hotels are included either through firsthand experience or editorial curation, based on the same standards and judgment I use when choosing where I would stay myself.

Selections and opinions are subjective, shaped by my preferences rather than universal standards. This site is intentionally selective, not comprehensive.

On accuracy

Details are accurate at the time of writing. Hotels and experiences may change over time, and opinions may be revisited as places evolve.

Privacy

Email addresses collected through newsletter subscriptions are used only to send From the Poolside and are never sold or shared. See the full privacy policy.

Basic analytics are used to understand readership in aggregate, not to profile individuals.
