Hopefully by now, all of you have found your summer holiday accommodation. Nice houses to rent need to be booked a long time in advance. So that you are prepared for next year, here is a lovely gite in Ardèche, called Maison Craux.

If you love nature, you’ll be in for a treat as the house is isolated in the middle of the Ardèche and two hours drive from the nearest airport but only one hour from the Valence train station.

A former 18th century building, Maison Craux consists of two vacation houses: the Manoir and the Petite Maison. The Manoir sleeps 10 and the Petite Maison 4 so you could go with the grand-parents or another family and have separate quarters. Alternatively, this could be the opportunity to make new friends.

Both houses have a beautiful boho charm and are set in wonderful natural surroundings. I love the special touches that the owners have planned: towels, change of linen, breakfast delivered to your door…

The TGV train station of Valence (www.voyages-sncf.com) is one hour by car. There is car rental available at the TGV train station.
The closest airport is Grenoble, about a 2 hour drive. Other airports are Nîmes, Lyon and Marseille.
The village Saint Sauveur de Montagut is about 10 minutes by car.

Biking: Rent a bike and ride along the route of the old steam train straight through the mountains of the Ardèche.
Rafting: rent a canoe or go rafting on the river Eyrieux.
An adventure parc in the Eyrieux valley where you can climb rocks and walk on giant ziplines.
The Chauvet Cave is one of the most famous prehistoric rock art sites in the world.
