This is going to be a Normandy-themed week on the blog as I received two holiday challenges for that region. Today, I’m listing the results of my research for Frédérique who is looking for a last minute (this coming weekend) romantic weekend in Normandy. Here are the 4 hotels and b&bs that I would like to go to if Mr Big was deciding to whisk me away for an “à deux” weekend.
Manoir de Coutainville
- B&B 6 bedrooms
- From 260 Euros
- Website

This B&B is in Basse-Normandie but very close to the sea, in Agon-Coutainville. This old manor dominates the golf and the sea so you have a great view. The 6 bedrooms have a pared down and airy decoration which shows a restrained sense of style. It’s the perfect contrast to the stark stones of the building. Diners can be arranged.
Chateau de la Pommeraye
- B&Bs, 5 bedrooms
- Prices from 195 euros
- Web site

A classic French chateau with 5 bedrooms, close to Cabourg. There is a grand dining room where you can have diner upon request and also a spa at about 200 metres from the chateau. Perfect for those who want a true French experience.
Hotel la Licorne
- Bedrooms: 20
- Prices from 180 euros
- Site web

This hotel sits in the middle of Lyons la Forêt, not far from Rouen. The 20 bedrooms have been redecorated in 2007 by collaborating with the furniture brand Flamant, which means lots of greys and neutral colours which are both stylish and restful. The plus of this hotel is that it has a Spa Nuxe (highly recommend the “huile prodigieuse” de Nuxe by the way) and a pool !
Hotel des Ormes
- From: 129 Euros
- Web site

A small seafront hotel with a small garden which has been redecorated by its Belgian owners. I like their choice of colours which are a bit unusual. Bedrooms are said to be a bit small but the restaurant got good reviews and the setting just on the port is charming. I hope this gave you some ideas. Do you have any other good addresses in the region ?
