Paris week – my selection of places to rent

France Rentals

When going to Paris with children, I really recommend that you consider renting a flat rather than staying in a hotel. While there are lots of lovely affordable stylish hotels, let’s be realistic: rooms in those are often small. So you then have to book two rooms or early enough to get the one family room that your select hotel has.

The benefits of renting a flat in Paris for your short break

  • you can have one, two or three bedrooms
  • the price is generally cheaper for the space
  • breakfast will be delicious and cheap as you’ll do the thing that all Parisians do: go to the best local bakery to buy your fresh baguettes and croissants.
  • you can benefit from all the wonderful food in Paris and buy your diner to enjoy in your flat
  • your children have room to play
  • you can have a friend’s babysitter come to look after your children if you go out for a romantic diner one evening
  • you can change neighbourhood each time you come and try to really live like a local, not only of Paris, but of that specific neighbourhood

etc… etc…

My selection of nice flats to rent in Paris

Here are the places I selected for you on various sites. I tried a couple of them myself.

A vast loft in the Saint Georges neighbourhood

We stayed here before and really appreciated the vast living space, two bedrooms and very well equipped kitchen. There is also a terrace where you can enjoy breakfast in the sun. Really nice to have all this space to relax in after a day of sight seeing and shopping. There are several good shops in the very popular rue des Martyrs nearby.

A Saint Germain flat with terrace

This is quite expensive but for the price of only one bedroom in a 3 or 4 star hotel, you get a 105 square meters flat in one of the most exclusive areas of Paris. I love the sense of light and space here.

A fmily apartment in Saint Germain

A massive flat with lots of open space for kids to go round. The owners have children themselves so there are rooms for them with toys etc.. Very clean minimalist look which is unusual in Paris. Again in the sought after 6th arrondissement of Paris.

A charming renovated flat

A good price for this flat in the Saint Germain area again.

A colourful flat near la Villette

One Fine Stay is the luxury way of renting a flat in Paris, but also in London , Los Angeles and New York .  Think of it as a posher airbnb. You get personal welcome, an app with information and more services as well. This flat in the Saint Georges area again has two bedrooms and a lovely welcoming feeling.

A colourful flat in the North of Paris

reue de la villette

If you have a little boy, he sure will like the colourful bedroom just for him in this flat in the North of Paris. Near la Villette and its park full of activities, it’s also close to the wonderful parc des Buttes Chaumont.

A flat in South Pigalle

It’s very funny because for a long time, you wouldn’t want to live in Pigalle due to its night reputation. It’s now become a bit more trendy and the new area to discover is “South Pigalle”.  Try this flat with lovely wooden floor and a glass framed separation wall which adds even more character.
