Treat yourself to one of these 6 unusual hotels and B&Bs in Amsterdam

Netherlands B&BHotels

Are you making progress planning your Amsterdam trip yet ? Yes ? Good as while you were looking at museums, attractions, coffees to go to, etc.. I gathered the below hotels and bed and breakfast for a family stay.

If you want to be really central (i.e. in the canals area), prices are quite high but if you’re ready to be a bit away and take trams or have a 10′ bike ride to get around, there are more choices.

 The Conservatorium

Conservatorium Hotel, luxury hotel, Amsterdam with indoor pool, spa, gym. A treat as the starting price is 335 Euros !

We start with a luxury one (don’t worry, the ones below are much cheaper) which opened recently. It is perfectly located in the museums areas and at the border of the canals neighborhood. It has an indoor pool, a vast lobby and of course luxurious rooms.  One to treat yourself to for a romantic weekend maybe?

Stout & Co

A keen eye for design, a private deck, a location next to the central station and nice hosts make this B&B quite a find.  Rooms have kitchenette but you can’t put an extra child bed in it so it’s a place best suited for families with older children who can sleep in a separate bedroom. Oh and they have Aesop products in the bathroom.

Hotel Kroug

  • One bedroom
  • from 235 euros

Hotel Droog, a design shop, gallery and cafe with only one bedroom in Amsterdam. You will really be at the core of the design party there. Room from 235 Euros.

An interesting concept here: this design gallery, cafe, outdoor garden has opened a “one bedroom only” bed and breakfast. You get to occupy the whole top floor with an expansive living room and beautiful bedroom and bathroom. And if you want to mix with the arty crowd, you just have to go downstairs to the café and spa.

The Exchange

The Exchange, hotel in Central Amsterdam where each room is decorated by arts students. Rooms as low as 59 euros depending on the season. They have cots for babies

A funny one that one as each room is decorated by art students. I like the flexibility on price as you can have a one star room for as little as 59 euros or a 5 stars one for 235 Euros. They can also provide cots for babies.

Rika

  • 2 bedrooms
  • 235 Euros per night, not including breakfast but there are cafes within walking distance

Rika, design bed and breakfast, Amsterdam in the 9 streets area. No breakfast served. Lovely decor though.

Located in the 9 streets area of Amsterdam, a good neighborhood for shopping, this small guest house has oozes of design charm. The owners have a gallery on the ground floor. Lovely rooms with the downside that you have to take your breakfast in a cafe.

Van Holland House

  • 2 bedrooms
  • From 90 Euros a night
  • Website

Feel right at home in this beautiful recently renovated house with only two bedrooms. You can help yourself from the breakfast room to make your own breakfast and have complete separate entrance to your room. Not exactly central but a quick tram away from the main attractions.
